Volume 605, Edition 1
We are entering our seventh year, April 1st is not that far away, I cant say its been easy or that its flown by because it hasnt! We have had some real struggles and road bumps this year but things are looking a lot brighter now. A heartfelt thanks you for all the donations over the last year and welcome to all the new team members, quilters and volunteers.
Im so excited about the volunteers; I am getting emails asking about tasks that can be done on the Internet. We have had a record number of Circle of Friends (COF) quilters joining the team, and in just the last month, two new Workshops started. I have made friends with a wonderful lady in Canada that received a quilt from our Canadian branch, she told me a friend of hers, in England, would like to start a Workshop, would I send her our guidelines. Victorias Quilts can cross borders, it already has, and there are no limits to where a quilter lives, or where a Workshop opens a door. In fact, my hats off to a Quilter on the east coast she is coordinating 2 or 3 workshops.
The Pampered Chef Fundraiser ended Feb 28, thank you to all those that participated. We were given some donations without product purchases so I want to thank those donors too. We received more donations than purchases so I think that is a sign to just leave the finances in the hands of the donors.
Weve had fundraisers each year and have never brought in as much as individual donations throughout the year. I think we need to stick to what we do best and that is cover cancer patients with quilts, so theyre:
Just a Little Warmer and a Little More Comfortable and leave the finances to someone who knows just what is needed.
